1 lb beef (thinly sliced, such as brisket or chuck roast)
8 oz rice noodles (or any preferred noodles)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp chili paste (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
Fresh herbs (such as cilantro, basil)
Salt and pepper to taste
Green onions, chopped for garnish
Broth Ingredients:
4 cups beef broth
1 tbsp ginger, grated
Juice of 1 lime (optional, for added zest)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Broth
In a large pot, heat a little oil and add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced onion. Sauté until fragrant.
Pour in beef broth and bring to a boil. Add chili paste, soy sauce, and fish sauce. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
2. Cook the Beef
Add thinly sliced beef to the broth. Cook until the beef is tender and cooked through.
3. Prepare the Noodles
Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
4. Assemble the Soup
Place cooked noodles in a serving bowl. Ladle hot broth with beef over the noodles.
5. Garnish and Serve
